šŸ–ļø The best towns in Valencia

Something for everyone

Hi viatgers,

I’m always telling people that Valencia is a place you can explore endlessly.

I’ve been here for 7 years — and I still find new places to visit constantly.

And since there is a little bit of paradise for everyone, I thought I’d give you some suggestions based on preferences. So whether you’re still planning your trip (or you’re just looking for inspiration), you’ll be able to add these hidden gems to your list.

If you love medieval towns:

Then you should go to Bocairent.

  • Winding streets

  • Cobblestone paths

  • Next to other tourist spots

It’s a super small town, but absolutely worth visiting if you love that classic, medieval vibe. Plus you can visit the Covetes dels Moros — a really interesting cave system.

Bocairent is only about 1hr away by car, so it makes for an easy trip if you rent a car.

This will take you from Valencia, provide transportation, and get you entrance into the caves. So if you prefer having a guided experience, this one is highly rated!

If you love the beach

Then you should go to PenĆscola

  • Small town with a huge beach

  • Great seafood

  • Can visit a castle while you’re here

I think this is one of the best day trips from Valencia. You can enjoy the beach, explore a castle that inspired Game of Thrones, and get some high-quality seafood.

Although to be fair — if all you want is clear water, then just head out to Devesa. It’s only 15 minutes from Valencia (you can get there by bus). Endless sand and not as many tourists.

If you love hiking

Then you should go to Chulilla.

  • Famous for their ā€œhanging bridgesā€

  • Has a small river you can splash in

  • Relatively easy trails

Chulilla is a top spot for people who love hiking. I’ve gone here a few times on different routes since it’s quite close and the views are fantastic!

Although in the summer, I recommend going as early as possible!

If you can rent a car, then that’s preferable.

But if not, you can always book a tour & private transport here.

If you love luxury vacations

Then you should go to DƩnia.

  • Lots of houses to rent

  • Great beaches

  • A bit more isolated

Basically, almost any town on the southern coast of Alacant will do well. But DĆ©nia tends to have lots of options for a ā€œcasa ruralā€.

Many will come with a pool in a remote area. This way you can fully relax and get away from everything.

This is the most popular tool in Spain to find houses for rent.
