šŸš— Which Spanish Cities Are Worth It?

Here’s where you should go this summer.

Hi viatgers,

With summer coming up — and plenty of you getting ready to come see Valencia — you’re probably looking into other places to go see.

Because as amazing as Valencia is…

Well, there are tons of fantastic cities throughout Spain to go visit.

So here are my recommendations on which cities you should go visit:

Barcelona

This one is an obvious choice. It’s easy to get to, has a ton of history, and still gives you access to a beach.

Catalonia in general is a beautiful area to visit and is great in the summer.

I just got back from a trip not too long ago — so I can definitely recommend.

Cullera

Want to stay within the Valencian Country? Hop on a local train and go to the Hollywood of Valencia.

  • Wonderful beaches

  • Great seafood

  • Medieval castle

It’s definitely a top pick for anyone that wants to continue using Valencia as a homebase.

PenĆscola

This is pretty similar to Cullera — but it’s going up North and is a bit further away.

So if you’re renting a car and want to visit a great town on your way to Catalonia — this is the perfect option.

PenĆscola is a super cute town (typical labyrinth-style, white streets). It was a filming location for Game of Thrones, which is a big perk for many people.

Plus, the nearly endless beachfront makes for the perfect summer trip.

Admittedly — much further away. You’ll have to rent a car for this one.

But if you want to escape the city, get away from the heat, and enjoy the mountains…

Then Navarra is the perfect choice!

(Note: Navarra isn’t a city, but basically anywhere in the province is great)

My husband’s family usually makes a trip to either Navarra or the Basque Country once a year.

And when you’re trying to escape the heat — Navarra is their go-to option.

Where to NOT visit šŸ”„

Now, there are plenty of amazing places to see in Spain during the summer.

But… the summer can be pretty intense for people who aren’t used to it.

So to be completely honest, I would suggest skipping Madrid and Andalusia.

The weather gets too extreme, and I constantly hear from people saying they regret it.

In fact, I took my brother to Madrid in July and all he wanted to do was hide in the hotel room šŸ˜…

Just a friendly warning.

Have other summer plans? Let me know what they are!

Bon viatge,

Kevin
