Your questions, answered

Everything you wanted to know

Hello viatgers,

Thanks for taking the time to ask all your Valencia-related questions. I truly appreciate you reaching out and sharing your concerns.

So let’s get to answering those questions.

(And if you still have some, feel free to ask them here).

The Most Asked Questions About Traveling to Valencia

🄘 Where can I get the best paella?

This was the NUMBER ONE most asked question. Apparently, you’re all foodies like I am.

Here are some verified spots that I’d recommend:

  • Casa Carmela, at the beach

  • Ferro, in El Carme

  • Bon Aire, in El Palmar

Those would be my top 3 options. But you can check out this full guide for more options

āœˆļø How do you get to/from the airport?

A logistics question that shouldn’t be overlooked. I highly recommend just getting there by metro.

You can take Line 5 (the green one) from the airport, and it will drop you off at some of the biggest stations in the city center (XƠtiva, Colon, ƀngel GuimerƠ). And vice-versa, of course.

The metro is directly inside the airport, so it’s the easiest option.

And if you get the Valencia Tourist Card (which you can pick up inside the terminal, before going to the Metro) — then the trip is free! Otherwise, it’s around €5.

šŸ—£ļø Do you need to speak the language?

Learning some Valencian will definitely help make your trip easier.

Although, in most tourist spots, people will speak English. But it’s a nice gesture of respect to learn a few basic phrases.

And considering all of Spain is dealing with some overtourism — being respectful can go a long way.

šŸ§’ What’s the best thing to do with kids?

Highly recommend checking out the Gulliver Park! It’s a super fun park that kids here love. Plus, it’s near the City of Arts and Sciences, so you’ll be near the museum and aquarium as well.

šŸ“† How many days should I spend?

As many as you can! šŸ˜‚

I typically recommend 3 days as being a happy medium for most people. You’ll get to see all the major parts of the city without feeling rushed.

🌾 How can I see the Albufera?

There are a few ways to get to l’Albufera — the natural park right outside the city.

There are buses you can take (no metro). You can also rent a car, although this is a more stressful option.

But I usually just recommend booking a tour to take you there. You’ll get a better experience, have the transport covered for you, and just remove all the stress.

The reason I recommend this is that I think it’s helpful to have someone explain everything to you. l’Albufera plays a HUGE role in Valencian culture, which might not immediately be apparent if there’s no one to explain it to you.

(Plus you WILL appreciate the air-conditioned transport, trust me).
